A lot of people give up too soon than their energy to carry
is willing to carry them, many would have made it to the finish line but for
their inability to endure just a
little more. Before you call it quit, spare some moment and ponder on the
decision you’re about to take- on the resources (time and others) you’ve
committed into that particular task.
It is often amazing when you watch a football match and a
particular team (A) scores early in the first half and up till the 90th
minute the opposite team (B), keeps searching and fighting for an equalizer -and
hopefully get the winning goal. As the match draws close to the end, you’ll see
the losing team (B) trying everything to equalize so, they keep pressurizing
the opposing team’s defense as much as possible. Suddenly, a goal comes out of
the blues, and it’s the equalizer…and just before the referee blows the final
whistle (after the extra time), the team (B) that was once down gets the winning goal. You feel the excitement and joy in
the team who came from behind to win the game, especially if the team happens
to be your favorite.
Life is just like a football match, it is not over until the
final whistle is blown by the referee. The referee has not signaled the end of
the match yet, why take the referee’s role- why write off yourself when your
maker has not written you off. Your background is not a good enough excuse
to keep your back glued to the ground; a lot of people have “better
excuses” but refused to give explanation to their inability to become what
their creator had initially designed them to be.
Both teams keep fighting until the match ends, regardless of
who scores first, the match is often won by the team who scores more goals. The interesting and
intriguing thing is when you see a team come from behind to claim the victory.
This suggests to me that, it is not all about how bad you start, your finishing
matters most- this does not imply that you can start any how because, having a
good start also has its advantages but going all the way and finishing better
than you started is the best.
Determination, self-belief, focus among others are very
vital in making the best out of life.
Often time, a lot of people call it quit while they still
have the energy to get to the finish line and breast the tape, to claim the top
prize. It is only the lifeless that is not permitted to hope for victory,
once you still have the breath of life traveling through your nostrils and
lungs-then it’s not time to quit.
One thing the breath signifies is that, “the chief coach”
still believes in you, hence, he has kept you on the pitch to deliver the
goals-you can’t afford to let Him down. He created you and knows your
capability but you have failed to see yourself in His light.
Don’t be too much in haste to call it quit, don’t conclude
too soon, why give up when you can still fight. Challenges are the food of champions, prey on those challenges my
dear friend, you can have your name plated in gold- you’ve got what it takes!!
